बुद्ध भगवान के पिताजी का नाम शुद्धोधन था वह शाक्य समुदाय के मुखिया थे और उनकी माता जी का नाम था माया देवी था। 

 बुद्ध भगवान की माता जी के मृत्यु के पश्चात माया देवी की मृत्यु भगवान बुद्ध के जन्म के सातवें दिन ही माता माया देवी की मृत्यु हो गई थी ।

 और बुद्ध भगवान का लालन पालन इनकी सौतेली मां ने किया था जिनका नाम प्रजापति गौतमी था। बुद्ध भगवान का बचपन का नाम सिद्धार्थ था। 

 बुद्ध भगवान का विवाह उनकी आयु के 16 वर्ष की अवस्था में ही यशोधरा के साथ हुआ था। बुद्ध भगवान के पुत्र का नाम राहुल था । 

 भगवान बुद्ध जब कपिलवस्तु की सैर करने निकले थे तो उन्होंने 4 दृश्य देखें । 1. बूढ़ा व्यक्ति 2. एक बीमार व्यक्ति 3. मृत् शरीर और 4. एक सन्यासी। संसार के विविध समस्याओं से चिंतित होकर सिद्धार्थ भगवान ने अपनी आयु के 29 वर्ष की अवस्था में गृह त्याग कर दिया जिसे महाभिनिष्क्रमण  कहते हैं। 

 बुद्ध भगवान की गृह त्याग करने के बाद बुद्ध भगवान ने वैशाली नगर के अलारकालाम मे सांख्य दर्शन की शिक्षा ली। अलारकालाम सिद्धार्थ के प्रथम गुरु हुए।

 पूर्ण शिक्षा ग्रहण करने के बाद भगवान बुद्ध ने बिना अन्न जल ग्रहण किए हुए पूरे 6 वर्ष कठिन तपस्या की बाद 35 वर्ष की आयु में वैशाख की पूर्णिमा की रात निरंजना नदी के किनारे से पीपल वृक्ष के नीचे से सिद्धार्थ भगवान को ज्ञान प्राप्त हो गया था । 

 ज्ञान प्राप्ति के बाद भगवान बुद्ध को "बुद्ध" के नाम से लोग जानने लगे उस स्थान को बोधगया के नाम से पहचाना गया ।

  "बुद्ध" भगवान ने अपना प्रथम उपदेश सारनाथ में दिया उस स्थान को बौद्ध ग्रंथों में "धर्म चक्र प्रवर्तन" के नाम से जाना गया।

"DRAW HIS ANGEL" was the message! Where had this come from? I'm distant from everyone else within the house – am I not? 

Frightened – astonished – stunned – overpowered – dreadful – these words and feelings depicted my prompt response. 

At that time an awesome feeling of harmony and wellbeing expended me permitting me to acknowledge what was happening – as ordinary! 

Intuitively I began to scan for the craftsmanship paper and chalk pastels I had bought – (spontaneously a short time prior?) and plunking down tranquilly with the workmanship cushion transparently contact my knee and a pencil held upstanding over this cushion, I came back to contemplation and paused - as if this was recognizable to me?

WE'LL CRAWL AND KEEP YOU IN OUR SAFE LOVE"
